Dr. Stein started her Ph.D. in 2016 as part of the TVSEP long-term project. In her thesis, Dr. Stein used data from the TVSEP to analyse different factors that influence vulnerability to poverty in Thailand and Vietnam. In particular, her thesis sheds light on (i) the influence of local shocks on individual well-being, (ii) household debt behaviour and expectations towards future income, and (iii) the role of non-cognitive skills on individual labour market outcomes.
