The TVSEP Workshop on “Poverty Dynamics, Shocks, and Household Responses in Rural Asia” and the subsequent Data User Workshop, held on 26–27 March 2026, brought together a vibrant international community of researchers and practitioners.
A total of 61 participants attended the main workshop, while 68 participants joined the Data User Workshop, reflecting strong interest in both the research findings and the practical use of the TVSEP dataset.
The workshop covered a broad range of interconnected themes, including poverty dynamics, mobility, and wellbeing, climate and environmental shocks and economic resilience, as well as assets, financial access, and household behavior. Additional discussions addressed energy transitions, remittances, income diversification, and social vulnerability in rural Southeast Asia.
The Data User Workshop provided hands-on guidance on working with the TVSEP data, including data extraction, variable construction, empirical modeling, and the presentation of analytical results.
Overall, the event fostered insightful discussions, highlighted new empirical findings, and strengthened collaboration within the TVSEP research community.
