TVSEP Panel Survey in Vietnam completed

The 8th TVSEP Household Panel in Vietnam has been completed on 12 December 2022 in Buon Ma Thout, the capital city of Dak Lak Province.  Dak Lak was the second TVSEP province, after Ha Tinh, where the survey has ended on 6 October. Unfortunately, Thua Thien Hué, the 3rd TVSEP province could not be included any more due to lack of time and administrative constraints. A total of 20 enumerators supervised by 4 sub team leaders and one provincial team leader, interviewed a total of 1,227 TVSEP households in 148 villages. The LUH data management team, who coordinated the operations, worked in close cooperation with the TVSEP research assistant in Vietnam, Mrs. My Hao Van. In addition to training and supervision, six LUH data checking supervisors provided real time feedback to the survey team for immediate clarification and corrections of questionnaires. Overall, the survey went very well, the attrition rate was below 4 % which is remarkable considering the five-year-gap since the last panel wave in 2017. The survey took place under sometimes adverse weather conditions and the team had to cope with strict administrative requirements of local authorities. TVSEP wants to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Niem Le Duc from Tay Nguyen University in Dak Lak, Mrs My Hao Van and Mr. Dang Van Dinh and the entire Vietnamese team for helping to get the panel back to life in Vietnam.

The data of the 2022 Vietnam panel wave will be available for potential data user before the end of February 2023.
